SUMMARY OF THE DAY: MONDAY, MAY 20, 2019
For the third day of the #IS19, the matches went without a drop of rain despite the cloudy weather until 6pm. Many children were able to enjoy the tournament during their school trip.
THE RESULTS
During matches, some good sporting performances were achieved, notably that of Chloé Paquet who won her best victory in her career (6/3 - 6/3) against the American Sofia Kenin and Amandine Hesse against Yafan Wang (6/1 - 6/4). Nevertheless Pauline Parmentier, world n°65 was eliminated by Dayana Yastremska (6/2 - 6/4). Our former winners Monica Puig and Samantha Stosur are on their way to the Round of 16. Only Marta Kostyuk and Astra Sharma, among the players from the qualifying rounds, are still in competition. The last game between Caroline Garcia and Shelby Rogers was interrupted due to bad weather conditions. The two players were perfectly equal (4/6 - 6/4). The game is therefore postponed until tomorrow, in the second rotation, not before 12:00 pm.
ANIMATIONS
Signing sessions with Samantha Stosur and Monica Puig took place on the stands of our partners (Italia and Strasbourg Eurométropole). Fiona Ferro also came in contact with her fans and took the opportunity to dedicate a few balls to the spectators.
