IS’s commitment for Women
The 8 of March is an important day for women... and for the IS!
It's International Women's Day, established in 1975 and celebrated on this day.
The Internationaux de Strasbourg are firmly committed to the promotion of women's rights. This commitment includes principles such as gender equality, pay gap tackling, social inclusion and the fight against violence towards women, particularly in the sport’s field.
Special offer for women only
20% discount for women shoppers!
According to a 2022 INSEE report entitled "Femmes et hommes l'égalité en question", the average pay gap between women and men, all jobs and all working hours combined, is 20%*.
To tackle this gap, we have decided to launch a women-only promotion! It offers a 20% discount for female buyers on the DAY and EVENING sessions on Thursday 23rd May (Women's Day at the tournament), for all categories, except for COMBO tickets.
The IS’s commitment for women
Throughout the year, and especially during tournament week, we organise various activities to promote our values. As a WTA 500 tournament, the IS are committed to equality and participates in the prize money parity achievement that we hope to reach in the nearest future.
Here are two of the main initiatives to promote respect for women's rights that will take place at our 38th edition:
- The organisation of a conference to raise awareness about sexual violence against minors in sport, in collaboration with the Rebond association founded by Angélique Cauchy.
- A theatrical performance of the adaptation of Marion Bartoli's autobiographical text "Renaître", directed by Laure Werckmann, on one of the courts of the Internationaux de Strasbourg.
About RENAÎTRE
“The road to victory does not spare the fall. To surpass yourself doesn't mean you can't be surpassed. To be celebrated doesn't mean to be protected.” - Marion Bartoli
"Adapting Renaître for the stage means giving voice to the story of tennis champion Marion Bartoli - endowed with incredible willpower, rare strength and incredible resilience - who, when she falls in love, encounters cruelty and domination.
An immersive and engaging show that will take place on one of the #IS24 courts during our 38th edition!
About REBOND
« Aware of how lucky we are to have been able to obtain justice, to have been surrounded and supported, we want to be able to share our experience with clubs, federations and all organisations that welcome young people, to prevent this kind of tragedy from happening again. We also want to help the victims who are alone with their burden ».
The aim of the association is to raise awareness and explain to young people what the 'normal' attitude of sports leaders should be, but also to alert parents, educators and volunteers about the signs of distress and control.
«We believe that the key to end the scourge of sexual violence in sport is information and education».
