SUMMARY OF THE DAY: SUNDAY, MAY 19, 2019

For this second day of qualification and the first day of the final draw, the tournament started in the rain and a few matches had to be moved. Despite the bad weather, many people gathered in the VIP area to enjoy the traditional brunch. This year again, this service was completed with nearly 300 people. 

THE RESULTS

On the matchday, the young Frenchmen, Emeline Dartron and Diane Parry were eliminated in the last round of qualifying. Laura Siegemund, Marie Benoit, Astra Sharma, Xinyun HAN and Marta KOSTYUK qualified for the final draw. Fiona Ferro, determined to go very far in the competition, won her first match (6/3-6/1) against Thailand's Luksika Kumkhum. Qiang Wang, world No. 17 and No. 3 seed in the table, made it through the first round thanks to her solid match against Jennifer Brady with a score of 6/4-6/3. Finally, Aryna Sabalenka, seeded No. 2 and No. 10 in the world, won her match in just 47 minutes against Lin Zu (6/0-6/1).

ANIMATIONS 

Signing sessions with Pauline Parmentier and Daria Gavrilova took place on the stands of our partners. Anna, the winner of our social network contest, was able to meet Chloé Paquet in private. The Rendez-Vous à Roland-Garros stand featured a number of events to prepare for the Grand Slam, including a tennis-armchair event in the afternoon.
