First day of the doubles

The first doubles began today with the duo Ninomiya/Sizikova who won over S. Aoyama et R. Voracova in two sets : 7-6(5)/6-2. The other doubles wich go into the 2nd round is the chinese duo : Qiang Wang et Yafan Wang who beat M. Adamczak et P. Thombare : 6-1/6-2 

THE DRAW

Big performances for the simples 

For the simples, we have been able to watch matches full of suspense and quality, starting with the surprise of the day : the young Croatian Mrdeza, who, despite a complicated first set, has imposed her game by jostling Natalia Vikhlyantseva in the second set, but the russian won the tie break. Final score: 6-3 / 7-6 (4). Second match, just as intense: the one won by Mihaela Buzarnescu (seeded 4), who, after 2h48 of play, 2 balls of matches saved, eventually overthrow Magda Linette in a 3-set match : 4-6 / 7-6 (1) / 6-3.

Another big surprise: the victory of Reka-Luca Jani (535th world) over the american Sachia Vickery (77th world): 6-3 / 7-5.

Unfortunately, Amandine Hesse, the only French woman in the race today, lost, without demerit, her match against Danielle Collins in 3 sets: 1-6 / 6-4 / 3-6. A match not without constraints because in addition to a high sporty level, the rain caused two stops during the game.

Due to the rain, the match between Marina Melnikova and Lucie Safarova has been postponed until tomorrow morning.
